Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

My bachelor degree is neither in environmental nor earth sciences. Can I still apply?

Yes, we would like to attract other students with strong background in the skills we require. Please consult the admission page, the self-evaluation tool or contact the advisor. In case some requirements are missing the admission committee may grant a conditional admission with the requirement to successfully pass missing performance assessments during the first two semesters.

Can I study part-time?

We do not have a recipe ready for this, but it is possible! Flexibility and coordination skills on your as well as our side will be challenged. Some lectures and assignments do not require your presence.  The lab and field work, the colloquium and the seminar will however force you to be at the institute at least for important meetings, experiments and talks. In any case you should get in touch with the advisor early.
