Wind Profiler in Payerne
The MeteoSwiss operates a 1290 MHz wind profiler in Payerne. During the Bubble Project the wind profiler was installed near Basel for one year, where we had the opportunity to make our measurements. The object of our work is to optimize the wind profiler data. Wind measurements with wind profilers require correct identification of the atmospheric signal. Migrating birds, rain and snow contaminate the wind profiler data. This erroneous data is to be identified and removed by a neural network, so the wind can be calculated from the correct atmospheric signal.
