Given the high vulnerability of mountain ecosystems and the importance of mountain regions as water source for the surrounding flatlands, the elevation dependency of future climate change and possible amplifications of climate change signals in mountain regions are of high interest for climate impact research. We here investigate transient climate change experiments of current RCMs with respect to elevation gradients of temperature and precipitation climate change signals.
