I am a PhD student in Prof. Dr. T. Peters Atmospheric Chemistry group working on modeling the influence of solar variability on past and future climate change. This work is supervised by E. Rozanov (PMOD/WRC) and T. Peter (IAC/ETH Zürich).
Among others, sensitivity experiments are being fulfilled for an in-depth analysis of the Dalton Minimum (1780-1840) to investigate the effects of the UV/Visible radiation, the energetic particle precipitation and the volcanic eruptions on the historic climate.
This PhD project is part of the FUPSOL project, which involves also the University of Bern (Geography and Physics departments), the EAWAG and the PMOD/WRC.
The model used is SOCOLv3: The coupled MEZON chemistry model to the global circulation model ECHAM5 - which is itself coupled via OASIS to the Max Planck Institute Ocean Model (MPI-OM).
