At the end of this course students will be able to evaluate different tropical cyclone modification ideas, predict how tropical cyclones change in a warmer climate based on their physics and distinguish them from extratropical storms.

This course consists of 3 contact hours (2 lectures + 1 tutorial) per weeks and is taught by Ulrike Lohmann.

The tutorials will be held after the lecture (Tuesdays) from 12h-12h45 in the same room - CHN E 46.

The teaching assistants for this course are Blaz Gasparini, Katty Huang and Jacopo Riboldi.

Marks will be based on a 2-hour written exam for which two central elements (presentation hurricane model and UN congress) need to be passed. In addition, the assignments are a highly beneficial (see lecture notes of the first lecture for more details).
