Influence of climate change on the hydrology of the river Rhine

The river Rhine is one of the largest streams in Europe and is an important waterway. About 60 mio. people are living in the Rhine basin. Therefore, the assessment of the climate impact on the hydrology of the Rhine is of major importance. In this project, the newly available ENSEMBLES-scenarios [1] are going to be used to drive a hydrological model and analyse the climate impact on the Rhine river. The whole ENSEMBLES RCM-suite enables the assessment of model uncertainty in climate scenarios on relatively small regional scales. Specific questions addressed in this project are:
